FAQs:

Q: Who or what is GTW?

A: GameTechWorld is a community site covering all things gaming, technology, and entertainment. The reason for the creation of the site was two fold: 1- To get all your news in one place be it movies, games, computers, etc. 2- So many news and review sites have sold their souls to the "man", so GTW was created to be a no BS, non-bias, and hopefully 100% truthful site. Beware though, the truth hurts sometimes.

Q: Where are the forums? I don't see no stinkin' forums.

A: You must be blind! You went right by the link to them to get to these FAQs. Look back a couple button at the top.

Q: What are we allowed to discuss here at GTW?

A: Well, we're primarily a technology and gaming focused community but any and all topics are welcome, providing you know how to be civil and polite. No name calling because someone has a different opinion than you. Also, before you post, make sure you read the description of the forums. You can pretty easily figure out what goes where.

Q: Do tacos have feelings?

A: Yes, and the very fact that you had to ask that just killed a taco somewhere. Shame on you!

Q: What do I do if someone is harassing me on the forums?

A: Well, you have two choices. You can ignore them or you can feel free to report them to any of the staff or moderators here. You can see who moderates what forums under the forum descriptions themselves. In the event that you can't get a moderator you are welcome to contact me and I will bring my flogging cane out to see what's what.

Q: You said something about moderators. Who are they?

A: Moderators are effectively the person or persons in charge or certain areas of the forums. Barring abuse of power on their behalf the moderators say is final in the forums. Again, if you feel that the situation isn't being handled properly you can contact me.

Q: How do I become a moderator?

A: Practice. First, you have to show yourself as a useful community member here. That means you're most likely not going to become a moderator after your first post. Second, you are going to have to pass a virtual interview with a staff member. Who that staff member is will change from time to time. Third, you have to have some decent level of communication skills.

Q: Okay, if I become a moderator how much am I going to get paid?

A: Somewhere between $0 and nothing. Moderation is a volunteer position. Now, if GTW receives incentives, prize bags, beta keys, and any other form of goodies from manufacturers I obviously will make sure that the booty is passed around (and don't even go there perv). Now, that is IF any of those goodies are ever received. Nonetheless, you will be able to be part of something that could very well make you famous on the internet...without having to do something stupid on YouTube!

Q: Why is abbreviation such a long word?

A: Because Steven Wright said so.

Q: Am I allowed to disagree with the reviews and articles here at GTW or will I get banned like some other forums?

A: You're welcome to disagree with us. If we give a something a score that you think is wrong speak up. Do it in a respectful manner, of course, but speak up. I encourage discussion because in the end we're all going to like and dislike different things in different games. The community coming together is what it is all about for us to help shape gaming and technologies of the future.

Q: Are baboons evil?

A: Yes, baboons are evil. Anything that steals your windscreen wipers while waving a red bum in your face is the work of the dark side.

Q: I think someone sent a robot back from the future to kill me. What should I do?

A: Well, that depends who made the robot. If Microsoft made it just run around a bit till it gets the Red Ring of Death. If Sony made it then it probably cost too much to send to any time, let alone the past. If Nintendo made it then it's going to be so hard to find anywhere because they just can't keep up with their robot demands. Not to mention, you could just move around a bit. Nintendo Robots are susceptible to quick movements.

Q: I like you guys at GTW. Is there any way I can help?

A: Well, we're always looking to expand the family. Cash doesn't hurt either. Preferably in small, unmarked bills. But seriously, just a friendly e-mail goes a long way.

Q: Boxers or Briefs

A: Boxers. Briefs are boring and too short and usually full of information no one cares about. Boxers at least have to go 12 rounds sometimes and you get to see people punch each other.
