Apparenly CDProjekt doesn't feel satisfied with giving us a great game. In a bizarre and unprecedented turn of events in the gaming industry a game developer, one who has just published their first game to boot, has decided that you, the gamer, need more good stuff added to your game...FOR FREE. CDProjeckt, the creators of the acclaimed RPG The Witcher, have announced that they will be releasing The Witcher: Enhanced Edition. The release is scheduled for May 16th and will be available on media as well as digital downloads (this includes updating the game for current owners). Details regarding the "enhancements" can be found here in .pdf format. Some notable changes include MOD tools, added quest content, and over 5000 dialogue lines re-written and re-recorded. That's right, re-recorded. CDProjekt has gone so far as to revamp 1000s of spoken dialogue lines in a FREE content upgrade. It's refreshing to see a game developer really caring about the customer and supporting them beyond the inital sale of the product. If CDProjekt keeps up this kind of quality in their future endeavours we just might see a new powerhouse company coming to the field. Kudos to the chaps at CDProjekt for excellent support and work.

DLC or TLC, Which Do You Prefer? Alright, so the first thing that's been nagging at the back of my mind lately has been DLC (Downloadable Content). I'm one of those saddistic gamers who actually has a Playstation 3, Wii, Xbox 360 Elite, PSP, and Nintendo DS. All this is on top of a hefty gaming laptop and desktop. So yes, I am constantly spending money buying, renting, or trading for new gaming titles. You can imagine the costs on all this after a while. Since the first week of December till now I have acquired about 36 new games. So here's the dilema: When I am spending my hard earned cash on downloadable content for my existing titles I feel like I am being nickle and dimed. Sure, there's no one holding a gun to my head to download the goodies, but with some titles it starts to become a little necessary.
